In my blog, I am trying various color schemes to expand my painting vocabulary.  To that end, I am selecting a different color scheme/limited palette each week and basing three little 8 x 6 paintings upon that color palette. 

This is not exactly a color scheme-rather a good palette of colors from which you can mix almost any color.  I painted for a few years using only these three colors plus white.

Ultramarine Blue

Alizarin Crimson,

Cadmium Yellow

 You can get a really nice dark mixing all three colors together.  The only colors I can’t get with these colors is a bright, true red and Cerulean Blue.
